Our logo consists of five hands, black, white, brown, red and yellow, raised in celebration of women's work across the middle of a circle.
The project celebrates, validates, encourages and motivates women in pursuit of their dreams - in the home, in business and in the community.
It consists of a slide show, quilted and textile wall hangings, scrapbook of women's stories and inspirational quotes.
Womens Work Project founder and designer Anna Davison is the heart and soul of the WWP. Herself, a respected quilter, designer and teacher for 30-plus years, she brings to the table a passion for "Women's Work" and the women behind the work.
A group of five women, well-established in their respective fields and in the community, act as mentors for the project, and provide ongoing inspiration and motivation for the designer.
A number of sponsors have generously supported Womens Work Project with physical items such as fabric and jewellery featuring our logo and for creative talent.
Interviews with women involved in a broad spectrum of activities is ongoing. They range from a plastic surgeon working in Third World countries to a local potter and scrap book designer. These interviews and the accompanying photographs provide the basis for the slide show and scrapbook.
Inspiring quotes add worldly wisdom to uplift and motivate. Quilted wall hangings depict the work of many women both in traditional roles and today's modern world. Textiles made by native women in Canada, Thailand, Laos and Africa are part of the display.
